Grant Process

The WCCF reviews grant applications throughout the fall and spring of each year, and issues grants the following summer.  This past summer, the Fund awarded grants ranging in size from $25,000 to $50,000 to eight non-profits on the Island.

Grant Process

The WCCF's grant making authority is limited to registered non-profit organizations operating on Martha's Vineyard.  If your organization is an active 501(c)(3) and would like to submit a grant application, then please refer to the "Applicant Guidelines" below for further instructions and eligibility criteria.  Applications must be submitted no later than November 30 to be considered for grants awarded the following summer.  All applications will be reviewed by the WCCF Grants Committee and final selections will be approved by the WCCF Steering Committee.

APPLICANT GUIDELINES & ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

WCCF APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

  1. All Applicants must: (a) be registered 501(c)(3) organizations in good standing; (b) be located on the Island of Martha's Vineyard; and (c) benefit the people of Martha's Vineyard. 
  2. To be considered for a grant, all Applicants must: (a) download and complete the Grant Application; and (b) upload the completed Grant Application and supporting materials through the "Grant Application Submission" link below.  The WCCF will not accept or review applications submitted in hard copy or via email.   
  3. The WCCF awards grants to eligible non-profit organizations whose work in the community is focused on one or more of the following seven areas of need: (i) Affordable Housing; (ii) Children's Health, Welfare, and Recreation; (iii) Clean Water; (iv) Education and Workforce Development; (v) Food Security; (vi) Health & Aging; and (vii) Substance Abuse Counseling or other related support services.  
  4. Applications must be submitted by November 30, and grant awards will be announced the following June.  Organizations may apply for a grant once per grant period (i.e., once every twelve months).
  5. Grant award amounts will vary depending on the resources available within the WCCF as well as the nature of the request.

GRANT APPLICATION SUBMISSION

Please submit the completed application using the link below.  Applicants can expect to receive an email from the WCCF Grants Committee confirming receipt of the application within 7 to 10 days of its submission.  If an Applicant does not receive a confirmation within that period, please reach out to grants@westchopfund.org.
