The WCCF made grants during the 2021 - 2022 grant year that ranged from $25,000 to $50,000 to the following Martha's Vineyard nonprofits:
A grant to MVY Community Services, Inc. for The Island Counseling Center, Clinical Residency Program to sponsor on-island, skilled clinicians to provide counseling and mental health services for substance use disorders
A grant to the Island Autism Group, MV for its community farm stand & gardens as part of its Hub Center, Phase I project to provide island children and young adults on the autism spectrum with enrichment, life skills and workforce training
A grant to Aquinnah Parks & Recreation through the Friends of the Aquinnah Library for the first ever Aquinnah town children’s playground that will be a key component of a community food forest and eventual affordable housing project
A grant to the Island Grown Initiative, MV to provide free, fresh and healthy lunches while school is out during the summer months to the island’s school children where nearly 50% qualify for free or reduced-priced lunches
A grant to MVCET (formerly ACE MV) for its early childhood development certification & cohort program offering an island-based, job certification program to qualify workers to meet current employment opportunities at island childcare facilities where only 8% of the island’s infants are served, and 70% of island toddlers are in need of or on waiting lists for licensed care givers
A grant to Harbor Homes of Martha’s Vineyard, Inc. for case worker and related support services at its Tashmoo House for Men to provide life skills, employment and mental health support to the island’s homeless population made increasingly vulnerable by the escalating housing costs and increasingly limited rental property inventory
A grant to Navigator Homes of Martha’s Vineyard Inc. for its MV Green House Residential Eldercare & Skilled Nursing Home to provide, in partnership with Martha’s Vineyard Hospital, a full-service, skilled nursing and short-term rehab facility to replace the only existing but severely outdated and costly on-island facility
A grant to the Island Housing Trust to support its on-island affordable housing initiatives where 70% of the island’s homes are owned by seasonal residents or investors compared to a national “community” average of 10%
